It reflects and advances Windsor Law’s commitments to Access to Justice and Transnationalism and helps strengthen our partnership with the University of Detroit Mercy. Congratulations to the Moot Committee Members on its second annual Transnational Law Moot competition .” — Reem Bahdi | Dean of Law, University of Windsor “This is a historic moment in the close relationship between Detroit Mercy Law and Windsor Law. Dedicated students have created an exciting opportunity for alumni, faculty, and students from both institutions to engage with - and learn from - one another. I look forward to being part of what has become a celebrated annual tradition.” — Katharine Fisher | Director, Canadian and American Dual JD Program, University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy “I am so proud of our Dual JD students for developing this exciting competition to deepen the relationship between Detroit Mercy Law and Windsor Law. The Transnational Law Moot provides students from both schools with the opportunity to engage in advocacy around an issue of transnational importance. I look forward to us all having the opportunity to learn from the students' research and to engage as one community that stretches beyond borders.” — Dean Jelani Jefferson Exum | Dean of Law, University of Detroit Mercy “Our border city law schools are well-positioned to interrogate and interpret transnational legal issues. Manifestations of public international law, private international law and comparative law are lived realities in our communities, and this moot will be a showcase for regional expertise.” — Christopher Waters | Professor, University of Windsor, Former Dean of the Faculty of Law. “The Canadian & American Dual JD Program is a one-of-a-kind program, and I couldn't be more excited to support the second Transnational Law Moot. Dual JD students learn both U.S. and Canadian law concurrently through integrated and comparative study, and this moot is a perfect example of that. The ability to examine and argue issues through a comparative lens is an invaluable skillset in our increasingly globalized world.” — Christina Loebach | Assistant Dean (Finance and Administration), University of Windsor, Former Director of the Dual JD Program.
